The Railway Board, under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has approved a Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) for 8,875 Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) vacancies for the year 2025. The approved vacancies are for both Graduate and undergraduate posts. This move is a part of the Ministry’s ongoing recruitment drive to fill various positions across different departments. Breakdown of Approved Vacancies
The total number of approved vacancies is 8,875, which includes 5,817 posts for Graduate-level positions and 3,058 for undergraduate-level positions. The assessment of these vacancies was conducted by Zonal Railways and Production Units (PUs).
NTPC (Graduate) Vacancies
The Graduate-level posts are spread across different departments and pay levels, with a significant number of openings for Goods Train Manager.
- Goods Train Manager: 3,423 vacancies in the Traffic (Operating) Department at Pay Level 5.
- Station Master: 615 vacancies in the Traffic (Operating) Department at Pay Level 6.
- Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor (CCTS): 161 vacancies in the Traffic (Commercial) Department at Pay Level 6.
- Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist (JAA): 921 vacancies in the Accounts Department at Pay Level 5.
- Sr. Clerk cum Typist: 638 vacancies in the General Department at Pay Level 5.
- Traffic Assistant (Metro Railway): 59 vacancies in the Traffic (Operating) Department at Pay Level 4.
NTPC (Under-Graduate) Vacancies
The Under-Graduate vacancies are also distributed across various departments, with a large number of positions for Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk.
- Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk (CCTC): 2,424 vacancies in the Traffic (Commercial) Department at Pay Level 3.
- Accounts Clerk cum Typist: 394 vacancies in the Accounts Department at Pay Level 2.
- Junior Clerk cum Typist: 163 vacancies in the General Department at Pay Level 2.
- Trains Clerk: 77 vacancies in the Traffic (Operating) Department at Pay Level 2.
